The green tick is the Official Business Account status, and Meta grants it based on whether your business is recognisable in public, not on who submitted the form.

Green Tick vs Blue Tick: They Are Not the Same Thing
People use both names loosely, so it helps to be precise.
The green tick is the Official Business Account badge. It appears next to your business name in the chat list and the chat header, on every device, and it means Meta considers the account a notable brand.
The older blue tick people remember was business verification, which confirms your business is a real registered entity in Meta Business Manager. Verification is a step on the way to the green tick, but on its own it no longer puts a visible badge in the chat header.

What Meta Actually Checks for the Green Tick
The single biggest factor is notability: whether Meta can find evidence that your brand exists and matters outside of your own website and social pages.
Meta's reviewers look for coverage in news sources and other third-party references. Paid press releases, adverts and content you control do not count. A feature in a mainstream Pakistani outlet, a Wikipedia presence, or consistent independent coverage does.

The Steps for a Business in Pakistan
The order matters here, because each step unlocks the next.
- Register or confirm your business in Meta Business Manager and complete business verification. You will need documents that show the legal name and address, such as an NTN certificate, incorporation documents or a utility bill in the business name.
- Get the WhatsApp Business API set up on your number through an official provider. The green tick cannot be requested from the WhatsApp Business app.
- Set a compliant display name. It should be your real brand name, not a generic phrase like "Best Prices Karachi".
- Gather your notability evidence: links to independent news coverage, mentions and references that are not adverts.
- Submit the Official Business Account request through your provider and wait for Meta's review.
How Long It Takes, and What Happens If It Is Rejected
Business verification is usually reviewed within a few working days once your documents are in order. The green tick review is separate and slower, and Meta does not publish a timeline.
If the request is declined, it is almost always for notability. You can submit again after 30 days. Use that month to earn real coverage rather than resubmitting the same application.
No provider can guarantee approval or shorten Meta's review. Anyone who does is either misinformed or selling something that will not last.
